Greetings from The Sparkling City on the Bay, Corpus Christi, Texas host to the 2018 (June 21-24) US Etchells National Championship and the 2019 Etchells World Championship.

We can see from a notice sent out by Etchells Fleet 1, the Atlantic Series is due to start in May and run through the end of July.  However, one little factor was left out.  During this time, June 21-24, 2018 to be exact, the Corpus Christi Yacht Club and Etchells Fleet 23 out of Houston are hosting the 2018 US Etchells National Championship.  We sincerely hope that you make allowances for this extraordinary event.

The Corpus Christi Yacht Club and the team running this event, have been involved in the success of the 2002 J/22 Worlds, the 2006 J/80 Worlds, and the 2011 Melges 24 Worlds.  In fact, we won the St. Petersburg Trophy from US Sailing for the 2006 J/80 Worlds.  Mark Foster, PRO, is a world class sailor and well known by many, if not all, of you.  We can guarantee Mark and his team will provide you with challenging and exciting races.

The Corpus Christi Bay offers a unique sailing experience unlike any other.  For those of planning to participate in the Worlds next year, participating in the Nationals will give you an advance course in sailing our bay and conditions as these two events.

So, please, enjoy your Atlantic Series, but don’t forget to make time for the National Championship as well.

Deadline for early Registration is June 1, 2018.  Due to a flurry of activity in Corpus Christi in June, the block of rooms at the OMNI Hotel can only be held until May 16, 2018.  So please make your plans accordingly and we look forward to seeing you in Corpus Christi on June 21st or before.
