Etchells Rocky Mountain Championship/Dillon Open Regatta

Host: Dillon Yacht Club -The Nation’s Highest Yacht Club at 9,017′ – and Etchells Fleet 31, Scott Snyder, FC.
BONUS RACING: For those competitors who want 2 more days of racing, the 49th annual Dillon Open Regatta – The WORLD’s HIGHEST REGATTA at ‘9,017 takes place August 5-6. It regularly features up to 13 different one-design classes and draws approximately 100-140 boats from all over the US. Featured in Sailing World, Yachting Magazine, Boating Magazine, SAIL Magazine, Sailing Anarchy and Scuttlebutt, The Dillon Open Regatta is repeatedly listed as a sailor’s must-sail, bucket-list regatta. The regatta features a big regatta feel with plenty of food, entertainment, merchandise, spectator boats….and of course, Rum and Colorado Craft Beer!
Rocky Mountain Racing Format:
The timing of the 2017 Rocky Mountain Regional Championship is scheduled to be a unique and timely tune-up for traveling and international teams on their way to San Diego NA’s and “The Road To Etchells Worlds 2017” in San Francisco. Early-August high altitude winds can be unpredictable and often require a full day of sun to heat up enough cloud action to produce consistent late day breeze so the RMRC will feature 4PM starts allowing competitors full days to play in the mountains and resorts that surround beautiful Summit County Colorado.
